Power of One has impacted my life in an incredibly positive way. At 39 I had become complacent with my lifestyle and my health. I had stopped challenging myself and was content to remain in my comfort zone believing that I was in good enough shape. I ignored the fact that I was becoming overweight and out of shape and my insulin usage for diabetes was slowly increasing. I had gym memberships and played intramural sports but rarely went to the gym and playing soccer once a week was more of an excuse to get out with my friends. I can't say what made me walk through the door the first day but it has been a blessing ever since. Today I'm sixteen pounds lighter, my diabetes is better controlled and my insulin usage is half what it was. Physically I'm stronger and faster. Mentally I'm stronger and more positive. I look for ways every day to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself both mentally and physically. Power of One for me is the continued encouragement and support of new friends and coaches that have helped me shape my new lifestyle.
