Before being introduced to MMA/PowerFIT classes,I remember looking in the mirror and feeling upset with myself in terms of my weight and eating habits. I was not eating well and considered a short walk my exercise for the day. After graduating college, I knew that I wanted to make something of myself in this world and it hard to start with my personal wellbeing. I needed to boost my self esteem, up my confidence level and drop some of the weight I had put on. A good friend told me to try MMA. Although I was at first unsure, I went for it. Little did I know that one class would change my entire life style. My first class was the most difficult and the most rewarding. I went in with the mindset that I couldn’t do it, and came out feeling more accomplished than I ever had. I continued going to classes and found that in a short time I could feel my self esteem rising, my confidence going up, and the weight was dropping. Seeing these changes in myself made me work harder and feel better about who I was and what I was becoming. Along with the exercise changes, I also made drastic changes in my eating habits and what I chose to do in my free time. I am proud to say that nearly a year into my MMA training, I have lost close to 36 pounds and feel better than I ever have. The family I have been surrounded with during these classes have encouraged, empowered, and strengthened me both as a professional, and a person. The classes and people have helped me to make life changes and for that I am forever grateful.
